Project Drums explores percussion as a form of movement and collective communication. The rhythms, silences and physical energy of the performers transform the stage space into a meeting place where sound is constructed from gesture and the relationship between bodies.
The proposal combines concert and performative action, moving away from traditional formats to turn each performance into a visual and sound experience. The instruments cease to be just musical tools to become scenic elements that dialogue with light, movement and the presence of the artists.
More than a recital, the show proposes a journey through the ancestral power of rhythm and its capacity to generate community. The audience is invited to let themselves be carried away by a physical writing that transforms listening into a shared experience and makes visible the connection between music, body and space.
Project Drums is the stage project of Mallorcan percussionist Jaume Darder, a proposal born from his desire to explore the possibilities of rhythm beyond the conventional concert and to turn percussion into a visual and physical experience. Trained in classical percussion at the Professional Conservatory of Palma and graduated in modern music drums at the Jam Session in Barcelona, he has developed a career marked by versatility and dialogue between different musical styles. Over the years he has been part of bands such as Blues Beer Band, The Mothercrow, Whale Trip, Monotip, Gernika or Ciao Marina, and has participated in recordings made at studios such as Medusa Estudio, Music Lan Studios, Sol de Sants Studios, Casa Font Estudis and Tramuntana Estudis. Her career has led her to perform in numerous venues and festivals in Catalonia, the Basque Country, Madrid, Mallorca and other parts of the country, as well as in Sweden, in events such as White Summer, the Jaén Women's Rock Festival, Rock n Rostoll or the Festival of the Midnight Sun. With Project Drums, Jaume Darder transfers this experience to his own format where music, movement and stage presence merge in a proposal open to all audiences.
