Àncora
Col·lectiu 14 / From 7pm / Plaça de Dalt / Maria de la Salut

What keeps us attached to a place? And what drives us to leave? Àncora explores these questions through six bodies that transit between the desire to stay and the need to leave. Inspired by the experiences of migration and emotional rooting, the piece turns movement into a metaphor for the changes that go through life.

Contemporary dance and contact improvisation allow for the construction of a physical relationship between the performers where trust, fear, frustration and mutual support appear. The anchor is thus transformed into an ambiguous image: it can be a weight that immobilizes, but also a refuge that sustains.

As the piece progresses, the bodies draw shared trajectories that evoke human displacements and the processes of building a new home. Without abandoning the simplicity of the gestures, the proposal speaks of the need to find a place in the world and the emotions that appear when we decide to raise anchor.
