This conference proposes a conversation about ways of working with territories and the people who inhabit them, paying special attention to rural contexts and long-term processes. Based on different experiences developed in the field of living arts and community culture, issues related to participation, emotional bonds, sustainability and forms of social return of artistic projects will be addressed.
In recent years, cultural mediation has been consolidated as an essential practice for rethinking the relationships between artists, institutions and communities. Beyond complementary activities, mediation is presented today as a way of understanding culture from listening, participation and the collective construction of knowledge.
The session aims to generate a space for shared reflection on what it means to work from the territory and how culture can contribute to strengthening community relations and processes of social transformation.
